Here in TX, as well as elsewhere in the US, we are now happy that the last 2 year of an election campaign is finally over. It has been a long and tiresome two years.
Now we can take care of business. The banking market responded favorably this morning and the stock market did not cease to exist. An ugly black and white stamp that has lingered way to long on the US society has come to an end. What can better unite than a president born in Hawaii by an African student and a Midwestern mother? Raised in a one parent family, mostly by a grandmother and grandfather. Achieved academic greatness by concentrated and hard work on scholarships and was elected to the Senate as one of the youngest ever. He is a true representative of the well known American Dream. As a person he appears collected and concentrated and hopefully he will make truth of his statement that he is going to be "the president even for those that did not give him his vote" i.e. choose to ask some republican representative into his cabinet, in order to be able to lead this country united back to its former greatness and restore the image of us abroad.
I cannot vote since I am still a Swedish citizen and my legal status is a so called green card. This is the first election that I have followed from beginning to the end. Of course I was hoping that we would have gotten a female president but the more I learned the more I came to the conclusion that Barak Obama was the better "man".
Let us now put this behind us and attack the major issues that are laying in front of us;
Economy, Global warming, War, Healthcare for everyone, Equal pay for men and women, all in that order.
